Archaeological Assessments for Residential Construction

Archaeological Assessments for Residential Construction

Archaeological assessments are an important step in the process of residential construction in Washington state. These assessments are conducted to identify and evaluate any archaeological resources that may be present on a construction site, such as artifacts, features, or burial sites. The goal of the assessment is to determine if the proposed construction will have an impact on any significant archaeological resources, and to develop a plan to mitigate or avoid any potential damage to these resources. This is done in compliance with the Washington State Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation regulations, as well as federal laws such as the National Historic Preservation Act.
